In the late 1930s, the German American Bund often used Hindenberg Park in La Crescenta, a Glendale area neighborhood, to hold “Pro-American” rallies, and disseminate fascist propaganda. At these events, American flags were displayed next to swastikas and the Bund’s flag.

The flyer on the left advertises a 1939 rally held by the Bund which would “expose the real enemies of our United States of America,” alluding to Jews.
